In September 2007, Raymond was appointed to oversee the amalgamation of the three schools and to create a new leadership and management structure. Although the pupils have had to remain on their previous sites, he has tried to make the pupils feel as if they belong to the same school, by introducing a common badge and uniform, and by having pupils and staff moving freely between the campuses. Two of the previous schools are on the same site, while the third is a short journey away. The campuses provide for the following types of difficulty:

pupils who have moderate learning difficulties, covering the whole of the age range (key stages 1–4), with a life skills unit for the 16+ age group

pupils with physical difficulties aged pre-school to Year 7, after which they transfer to mainstream provision or to a different special school

pupils with severe learning difficulties (SLD), covering key stages 1–4.
